Portfolio"A stunning whole-home transformation in Mendota Heights featuring a bright, open-concept kitchen with a dark contrasting island and farmhouse sink, a spa-inspired master bathroom with dual rain-head shower and custom cement tile niche, a beautifully designed guest bathroom with penny round mosaic tile, a navy blue mudroom with reclaimed wood herringbone accent wall, and a dramatic outdoor living space with a cedar pergola and outdoor kitchen pass-through. Every detail reflects Scott and Maria Palmer's commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design."
Exterior
The client came to MSP Homes with a clear ambition: transform their Mendota Heights home into a space that felt custom-built from the ground up. The exterior set the tone immediately — a dramatic front elevation at dusk, with a wood garage door and stone facade that announced something special was happening inside.
Kitchen
The kitchen became the centerpiece of the entire remodel. A dark, dramatic island anchors the open-concept space, paired with a 6-burner gas range framed by hand-applied zellige tile backsplash. Every detail was chosen to feel both functional and striking — the kind of kitchen that makes you want to cook.
Kitchen
Just off the main kitchen, a dedicated coffee and beverage bar with walnut floating shelves gives the family a morning ritual space. The butler's pantry beyond it features a farmhouse sink, open shelving, and black casement windows — a working pantry that feels as beautiful as the rooms it serves.
Living Room
The living room fireplace became a statement piece in its own right. Black diagonal tile surrounds the firebox, topped by a reclaimed wood mantle that grounds the space with warmth and texture. It's the kind of detail that stops visitors mid-sentence.
Outdoor Living
The backyard transformation was equally dramatic. A cedar pergola with string lights and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen extended the home's living space into the landscape — creating an entertaining destination that the family uses constantly.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom was designed as a private retreat. A dark walnut double vanity with marble countertop anchors the space, while the double rain-head shower with encaustic cement tile niche delivers a spa experience every morning. A barn door entry adds drama without sacrificing function.
Mudroom
Throughout the home, it's the details that elevate the project. A navy blue mudroom with a reclaimed wood herringbone accent wall. A walk-in closet with barn doors and a center island. A guest bathroom with penny round mosaic tile. Each room tells its own story while contributing to a cohesive whole.
